The induction program for the 2023-24 batch of I. BASLP students

The induction program for the 2023-24 batch of I. BASLP students, was organized on 24th July, 2023 at the Sri Rajendra Bhavana, Mysore. The program started with the invocation song by Ms. Reethushree and Ms. Mahanya, PG students. Dr. Suma R, Principal and Professor welcomed the dignitaries, students and the parents. An orientation regarding the course was given by Dr. Asha Yathiraj, Professor, JSSISH. Dr. Hemanth. N, Professor and Head, Dept. of Audiology, addressed the students and gave them an overview regarding the audiology subject and departmental activities undertaken. They were encouraged to take part equally in academic as well as cultural activities. Dr. S. V. Narasimhan, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of SLP, introduced the students to speech and language science and gave an overview regarding the clinical postings and activities of the department. Following this was an address by the alumnus of the institute, Ms. Pashyanti Nagendra, Founder-Director, Turtle Express, Bangalore. Ms. Pashyanti congratulated the students for choosing the course. She shared her experiences as a student then and as an entrepreneur now. She motivated the students to explore the field and decide on whether to become a clinician, academician and/or a researcher. She informed the students regarding the importance of having good basics and fundamental concepts. She asked the students to stay focused about their aims and to achieve their goals through effort and hard work. Ms Sindhu P, proposed the vote of thanks.
